Terry has spent his entire career in journalism and PR. Trained as a journalist, he has worked as a Senior Information Officer and Editor for the United States Information Agency in London and Washington. As a desk officer he covered, among other things, the Apollo space programme and the Vietnam War.
After leaving the US Government, Terry went on to become the European Managing Director of Hill and Knowlton, then the biggest PR firm in the world; Executive Vice President of Carl Byoir and Associates, the third biggest PR firm in the world; and then Burson-Marsteller, where he headed up their corporate practice. In 1988, he established Franklin Associates which provides corporate and strategic advice on communications worldwide. During his career, he has represented many of the Fortune 500 and Times Top 1000 companies.
